Memorial Center Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla (Smiljan, 10 July 1856th – New York, 7 January 1943.), a scientist and an innovator of world renown. He worked in the field of electrical engineering and radio, and invented the rotating magnetic field and the polyphase system of alternating current. In honor of the centennial of his birth, the International Electrotechnical Commission gave its name to the unit of magnetic induction Tesla. Encyclopedia Britannica classifies it among the 10 most important people in world history. For himself claimed he was not the inventor but the “discoverer of the things that exist in nature around us,” In addition, he expressed a sense of beauty, nice manners and spoke six languages. MC Nikola Tesla was opened on 10 July 2006 years on the occasion of 150 years of birth Nikola Tesla. The center is located in Smiljan near city of Gospic and there we can see Tesla’s birth house which has been arranged for visitors, testing station, multimedia hall and a children’s park.
